Check out Jason's blog. That's right, he actually posted one!!!! It is definitely the coolest blog ever posted from Guinea-Bissau because it contains a short video clip of our journey over. We made another one containing a video tour of our apartment here, and it is on the way soon. I think you guys are really going to like the videos.

Writen on Monday, but not posted until Friday.... Ah internet in Guinea-Bissau...
Life is starting to settle into a pattern here. I am teaching third level English again and my classes are going really well. Both of my classes are really small – 12 in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. Everyone in my classes has already graduated high school and most of them are learning English to study (University level) in an English speaking country or to use it in their business; so they are pretty motivated in general. I do feel pretty outnumbered most of the time because I don't have any women in either of my classes.
Hard at work
Eduardo and Dionisio take a break from their reading
Antigina, Isaac, Wilson, and William
Benildo and Quintino are two of my chattiest students
A serious moment. Check out the white jelly shoes. Those are the prefered soccer playing shoes in Guinea-Bissau.
Erica, Emily, Jason, Ruth, and Ron
Bad to the bone! That's right, he is on our super-sweet "mota".
Is that bird giggling???

We are here in
The guest house that we are living in is nice. It will be perfect. The only rooms that are finished are ours and Erica's. They haven't finished the kitchen yet, but they have been working on it a lot, so hopefully we will be able to cook and clean in there soon.
None of the computers were working at all when we arrived. There had been a server error the day before – basically all of the hard drives were completely full. So, we pulled into the Center, hugged and shook hands with a lot of people, and then Jason when straight over to the office and added a hard drive to the server. hehe, nothing's changed I guess.
I will post some pictures of everything next time. We are pretty busy with all of our unpacking, but we've almost got this place feeling like home. I am taking Erica to the market today to get some fabric to make curtains for our windows, so that should be a good time. Buying fabric is one of the most African shopping experiences, so I am brushing up on a few phrases in Creole. hehe
Miss you all!

I'm sitting in the JFK airport in New York. Just ate a McDonald's snack wrap. Not going to get to have another one of those for a while... Bring on the schwarmas!
I am remembering the giant turkey leg I helped eat at the Reniassance fair on Saturday.
I have to say I'm feeling excited. The landing in New York was rough - lots of up and down - and I got kind of sick. McDonald's cures a multitude of ills.
Jason was up all night last night. I got about 4 hours. Nothing like saving it all for the last minute :) ...
We have an absolutely ridiculous amount of luggage. Two 70 lb bags, one 50 lb bag, and one 40 something. Plus two concocted carry ons - Jason is taking a picture as we speak. He likes to do that :)
Notice the sweet rainbow ribbon lashing the wireless antenna to the giant reel of cable? That's mine. Traveling in style... hehe Only two of the checked bags have wheels... Maybe I should've bulked up a little more. hehe
Well, I just wanted everyone to know that we are safe thus far. Keep our bags in your prayers. Not much in them is ours. We are camels for the Youth Center... hehe. We did pack all 10 packs of cheese. Definitely not the level of cheese I have become accustomed to, but way better than nothing...
Amanda's wedding pictures are up. They are pretty cute. Go to www.SpotOnStudio.com. Click on "my gallery" then click on "Scott and Amanda Ellifrits" and Viola! Here's a tasty sample...
Here's the cake that Rachel made
Jason wants the computer now so I'm going to wrap it up. (He says I am making him sound like a "jerk-tard"... what he really wants is more food.) We are going to go buy some Chinese food. Yay!
If anyone wants to get emails when I post this wonderful stuff (or when Jason posts, but let's face it, mine are the highlight... hehe) so that you can know to check my blog, just send me an email at my gmail address and I will add you to the list.
